Chief Minister calls on Governor

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy called on Governor Rameshwar Thakur at the Raj Bhavan on Friday.

Sources said there was no political significance to their meeting as it was customary for a Chief Minister to pay a visit to the Governor towards the end of the budget session of the Assembly which the latter opens with his speech. Though the budget session was scheduled to close three days later, Dr. Reddy preferred to meet him on Friday to avail of the opportunity when he was in the city. Mr. Thakur, who is Orissa Governor on a regular basis, visited the city to fulfil official engagements.

Dr. Reddy walked away without giving a reply when reporters asked him later whether he discussed Cabinet expansion with the Governor.
