Tributes paid to Chandraprasad Tyagi

Staff Correspondent

HASSAN: Leaders of various factions of Dalit Sangharsh Samithi (DSS) here on Friday paid rich tributes to the late Chandraprasad Tyagi, at a function organised by the united Dalit movement.

Chandraprasad Tyagi, who was one of the founders of the undivided DSS, died recently.

Senior leader of All India Progressive Janata Dal (AIPJD), Manjunatha Datta, who opened the programme, said it is imperative for the Dalit leaders to follow the path paved by Tyagi.

"He was a person with integrity and concern for human values and fighting against oppression against a human being is the only way to uphold Tyagi's principles," he said.

Giriyappa of VISL, Shekar of Hemagangothri post-graduation centre and journalist R.P. Venkatesha Murthy spoke.
