CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Cabinet, which met here on Friday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, decided to transfer the administrative control of the State Land Use Board to the Agriculture Department. The Cabinet also decided to relax norms for change of land use of four industrial areas at Yamunanagar, Bahadurgarh, Sonepat and Panipat. It also decided to regularise the bifurcation or fragmentation of the plots in the old industrial areas of Panipat, Sonepat, Yamunanagar and Bahadurgarh in favour of the allottee or transferee subject to payment of transfer fee as per Estate Management Procedure. An official spokesman said that conversion fee would be charged as determined by the Government where service activities or commercial activities are going on the plot or on the divided portion of the plot. This would be in addition to the transfer fee, if the plot or divided plot is also transferred in favour of the transferee. He said that this decision has met a long-standing demand of the industrial associations of these towns. The Cabinet also approved that the Transport Department would empower the Excise and Taxation Department to collect road tax at tax collection points set up at the borders of the State. The administrative arrangement for collection of road tax under Motor Vehicles Taxation Act or Motor Vehicles Act would be operational with effect from April 1, 2006.
