Quits Halia market panel chairman post

Staff Reporter

NALGONDA: District Central Cooperative Bank (DCCB) chairman Yedavalli Vijayender Reddy tendered his resignation from the Halia market committee chairman post on Friday.

A close confidant of Home Minister K. Jana Reddy, Mr. Vijayender Reddy was made DCCB chairman in December last. He was getting an honorarium of Rs. 1,000 per month as the market committee chairman since he had been elected for the post in August last. Baffled by the sudden hue and cry over the issue of two posts, Mr. Reddy told The Hindu that he had tendered the resignation to avoid controversy. Asked for his reaction on the resignation of his party supremo, Mr. Reddy said: "I don't find any fault with the decision of Soniaji. If Jaya Bachchan's ouster is justified, our leader's decision cannot be found fault with."
