Indian to launch new flights

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: A new daily fifth flight between Mumbai and Chennai and five new connections to destinations in the Gulf and one to South-East Asia are the highlights of the summer schedule of the public sector carrier, Indian.

Indian has stepped up India-Gulf connectivity by linking Mumbai and Dubai with a daily Airbus A-320 flight from March 26. From June 1, daily Chennai-Dubai-Chennai and Kozhokode-Dubai-Kozhikode flights will boost the capacity offered to Dubai.

Two other new flights from Chennai are the weekly Chennai-Trivandrum-Sharjah-Kuwait and Chennai-Trivandrum-Sharjah flights. Nagpur will get its first Indian connection from April 15, with the introduction of a twice-weekly flight on the Hyderabad-Nagpur-Bangkok sector every Tuesday and Saturday. With this, Indian will connect Bangkok with nine destinations in India, offering 29 flights a week.
