CHENNAI: Sigapi Ramaswamy, wife of M.A.M. Ramaswamy, MP and leading industrialist, died here on Friday after a brief illness. She was 67. She is survived by her husband, son, M.A.M.R.Muthiah, industrialist, daughter-in-law and grandchildren and sister-in-law, Kumararani Meena Muthiah. Mrs. Ramaswamy, modest by disposition, did yeoman service to religious activities. She was President of the Rani Meyyammai Ladies Hostel and the Working Women's Hostel at Egmore. She was also Vice-President of the Gandhinagar Education Society, which runs several schools in Adyar and R.A.Puram. She took a keen interest in the building and renovation of temples. The cremation will be in Chennai on Saturday.
