Power cut

CHENNAI: Power supply will be suspended in the Pandeeswaram, Alamathy, Morai-Veerapuram and Thamaraipakkam areas from 7 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. on Sunday and Monday on account of the work of stringing the 400 KV Alamathy Line.

College entrance test

The GSS Jain College for Women is holding the annual Competitive Entrance Examination for students seeking admission to undergraduate courses on March 30. The two-hour objective type test will evaluate candidates for knowledge in their core course, English proficiency, general knowledge and logistic skills. Morning session will be for students seeking admission to the computer courses (B.Sc/BCA/BISM) and the noon session for students joining Commerce / Corporate Secretaryship / Management courses (B.Com/BCS/BBA). Top five rankers of the test in each group will get 100 per cent merit scholarship, those securing 60 per cent and above will get 50 per cent tuition fee waiver and the top 10 rankers of each group will get spot provisional admission.

Yoga courses

The Yoga Therapy and Research Centre, Satyananda Yogashram will organise regular yoga courses for all age groups from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. from April 3 at 5th Avenue, Beach Road, Besant Nagar. For details, contact 9444368448 or 9840063273.

Workshop for parents, teachers

The Centre for Training and Resources in Early Childhood Education is organising a workshop for kindergarten and playschool teachers and parents. The workshop will focus on child development and curriculum planning through themes, reading and writing and mathematics, story-telling, songs and movement and creative pursuits. Crash course
