New Delhi: The police claimed to have solved a sensational 2004 dacoity on Friday by busting a gang of dacoits with the arrest of four persons here.

The leader of the gang, 23-year old Danish, is involved in at least six other cases in various districts here, police said, including for attempt to murder, robbery and snatching.

The police laid a trap near Sarita Vihar area here on a tip-off that a notorious criminal was plotting a crime at the location. The accused was apprehended while attempting to defend himself with a loaded country-made pistol. -- PTI
