Lok Adalat

The Bangalore District Legal Services Authority, in association with National Insurance Company Ltd., will conduct a Lok Adalat for

settling motor vehicle accident claim cases on the City Civil Court premises on Saturday between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.

According to V.V. Guru Murthy, Regional Manager of the Insurance Company, the petitioners of 112 cases have

been called to attend the programme and settle their claims pending in different courts of the city.

Child strangled

A 29-year-old woman strangled her three-year-old daughter before hanging herself in Havanoor extension in Peenya police station limits on Friday.

According to the police, Shanta had married Prakash three years ago. The relations between the two were not cordial.

Boy dies

A quarrel between two boys while playing cricket resulted in the death of a 14-year-old in Indiranagar police station limits on Thursday.

The police said that around 3.30 p.m. a few boys from Andhra Colony slum in Murphy Town were playing cricket at Lakshmipura burial ground.

When Sunil (14) was batting, another 14-year-old boy, Arun Kumar, taunted him saying he was not playing properly. An enraged Sunil rushed towards Arun Kumar and allegedly kicked him in the lower abdomen.

When Arun Kumar collapsed, two of his friendsrushed him to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.
