Himachal to construct cold storage near Delhi

SHIMLA: The Himachal Pradesh Horticultural Produce Marketing and Processing Corporation (HPMC) has decided to transfer its land at Kundli on the Delhi-Haryana border to HP State Civil Supplies Corporation (HPSCSC) for the construction of a cold storage.

HPMC's Managing Director CRB Lalit said the HPSCSC would construct a cold storage there for storing perishable goods and marketing them at an appropriate time later. The corporation has also decided to release four per cent additional dearness allowance (DA) to its employees.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the board of directors of the corporation here yesterday, he said, adding that it would cost the corporation Rs 17.7 lakh.

He said the corporation had also increased its turnover by Rs 54.32 lakh this year as compared to last year.
