Workshop on trans radial angioplasty

MYSORE: A workshop on trans radial angioplasty will be conducted at Vikram Hospital and Heart Care Centre here on March 26, a release said.

It is the first such workshop in the State.

It will be held between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. The trans radial approach is gaining acceptance owing to the lower incidence of complications, earlier mobilisation and shorter stay in hospital. Patients can be discharged within four hours of the angiogram, the release said.

During the workshop, the angiogram and angioplasty procedures will be performed by consultant interventional cardiologist from G. Kuppuswamy Naidu Memorial Hospital, Coimbatore, Rajpal K. Abhaichand, and a team of cardiologists from Vikram Hospital.
