dated March 27, 1956: Pak. President's review

War between India and Pakistan would be suicidal for both the countries, said President Iskander Mirza of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on March 25. He declared that there could be no threat of aggression to India from Pakistan, which was anxious to improve her relations with her great neighbour, India. These relations continued to be embittered by the dispute over Kashmir. It was imperative that this problem was solved without delay. He said the Pakistan Prime Minister had made certain proposals to his Indian counterpart for solving their border disputes. A reply to these proposals had been received and was now under consideration.
