According to an official release received here on Saturday, these records were traced during a manuscripts survey launched by the State Archives Department in collaboration with the National Manuscripts Mission. The release said old manuscripts were being collected during the survey launched for the preservation of such documents and creating national data bank. The team found manuscripts which were about 1,000 years old from a Mana. Rare books containing treasured knowledge on venom treatment were traced from a `Mana' at Chalakkudy. Several palm leaf-manuscripts too were traced at the Koodalmanikkam Devaswom.
