PATH TO PROGRESS: V. Aruna Kumar, Rajahmundry MP, inaugurating the new recovery boiler with evaporator plant at the mill in Rajahmundry on Sunday.
Rajahmundry: Member of Parliament Undavalli Aruna Kumar on Sunday commissioned new state-of-the-art chemical recovery boiler with evaporator in the Andhra Pradesh Paper Mill (APPM) along with L.N. Bangur, chairman of the mill, local MLA R. Suryaprakasha Rao, who have commissioned demineralisation plant. The two huge machines are installed as a part of the Rs.635 crore mills development plan of the company.
Management lauded
Speaking on the occasion, MP Mr. Aruna Kumar congratulated APPM for successfully completing the erection of the new environment friendly recovery boiler and its associated plants and machinery and wished that APPM would complete the remaining mills development plan works very soon. He asked the management of the mills to take workers into confidence and hike the wages in next pay revision, which is unmatched with other mills in the country. Mr. Bangur assured that they would deliver best quality paper and also see the betterment in standards of life of Rajahmundry people. Mr. R.C. Mall, executive director of mill, explained that the new environment friendly recovery boiler with a burning capacity of 1,300 tonnes per day black liquor solids, which is another form of bio-fuel, is the largest one in the country with many features of first of its kind like continuous on-line monitoring of stack emissions for suspended particulate matter, sulphur compounds, nitrogen oxides.
Special features
He said that the evaporator plant is having a special feature of online washing in the second effect stage, again first of its kind to facilitate higher availability of plant with minimum outings for cleaning purpose. MLA Rowtu Suryaprakash Rao, P.K. Soori, president (operations), G. V. Satyanarayana, vice-president and Kanna Rao, GM (personnel), were present.
