JAIPUR: The Maharana Mewar Foundation of Udaipur has conferred the Dagar Gharana honour of this year on the noted Sarangi player, Ustad Moinuddin Khan, in recognition of his contribution to the promotion of classical music. Jaipur-based Ustad Moinuddin Khan belongs to a traditional family of musicians. He has received several national and State level awards for his performance on the indigenous musical instrument. He has performed solo programmes on AIR and DD. Moinuddin Khan's spirited rendition of Hindustani classical music in the film "Holy Smoke'' earned him world-wide plaudits four years ago.
