Heated exchanges witnessed between Congress and TDP members

MAHABUBNAGAR: The specially convened Zilla Parishad general body meeting to discuss the National Employment Guarantee Scheme has ended abruptly without taking any decision or without passing any resolution over the mandal-wise action plans, on Sunday.

Members belonging to Telugu Desam Party raised objections over not being providing the agenda and mandal-wise action plans - to have a meaningful discussion.

Adjournment demanded

Nagarkurnool MP Manda Jagannath, Nagarkurnool MLA N. Janardhan Reddy and many TDP ZPTC members and MPPs demanded adjournment of the meeting for few days so that the members could go through action plans. But the Congress members deferred and there were heated exchanges between both the parties.

As the National Employment Guarantee Scheme is scheduled to commence from April 2 in the district, the members of ruling party led by Kollapur MLA J. Krishna Rao and Kalwakurthy MLA Yadma Kishta Reddy asked the district administration the go ahead with the action plans.

Intervening in the discussion, district Collector M. Jagadeeshwar said that if the members found any irregularities in the action plan, they could bring them to his notice.
