Common facilities planned

COIMBATORE: The Coimbatore Wet Grinders and Accessories Manufacturers' Association will start a common facility centre here in another six months.

This is to manufacture here some raw materials such as copper wire, plastic and stampings used in wet grinders, says V. Ramakrishnan, Assistant Director, Small Industries Service Institute (SISI).

The secretary of the association, D. Krishnamoorthy, said the centre would come up at a cost of Rs. 2.88 crores and an implementing agency, COWMA Cluster Services, was formed.

The State Government had sanctioned Rs. 16.52 lakhs for the project and the Centre's contribution would be Rs. 99 lakhs.
