Justice Pradeep Nandrajog also issued notices to the councillor Tarsem Bansal on the complaint and posted the matter for further hearing to April 26. The notices were issued on a petition filed by a local resident Sunil Kapoor through counsel Namita Roy complaining that the Municipal Councillor who had a house in the Mainawali Nagar had ``illegally'' constructed a three-storeyed structure in the area by violating all building bye-laws and norms besides encroaching into the public road. The petitioner who is a neighbour of the Councillor claimed that the constructions besides being illegal deprived him of proper sunlight and air.
Two auto-lifters arrested
The accused, Vijay and Dharmender, were arrested during a routine check near Ramdev roundabout at Narela. The two were found travelling in a car stolen from the Bahadurgarh Industrial Area. During interrogation, they allegedly disclosed that they were involved in at least four criminal cases in Gurgaon. They were released from Gurgaon jail on February 26.
Man allegedly
commits suicide
According to the police, Khajan Singh was found hanging from the ceiling fan around 12-30 p.m. In his suicide note, he wrote that he had taken the extreme step as he suspected that his wife was having an extramarital affair. Inquest proceedings into the matter have been initiated by the local police.
One killed as wagon catches fire
The wagon, which was carrying onions, caught fire when a high-tension overhead wire fell on it, police said adding 24-year-old Ajay, a resident of Shakurbasti, was killed in the blaze. Fire tenders rushed to the spot and the blaze was put off in 10-15 minutes, they said.
S-I chargesheeted for accepting bribe
The charge-sheet was filed before a Special Court here on Saturday against S-I Puninder Singh on a complaint filed by Deepak Trehan on May 24 last year. According to the complaint, the SHO of the Lajpat Nagar police station had asked for a bribe of Rs 50,000 through the S-I for hushing up a case against Trehan and his wife which was pending investigations.
