Coimbatore: The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief Wildlife Warden, C.K. Sreedharan, stressed the role of researchers in developing usable or at least workable models that could be implemented in maintaining elephant habitats and corridors. He was speaking at a workshop organised by the Forest Department on Applied Research Activities undertaken in Northern Part of Western Ghat of Tamil Nadu with a special emphasis on elephants, its habitat and corridors recently. The research scholars presented interesting and informative study papers. R. Sukumar, scientist, Center for Ecology, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, among others spoke.
