Child run over by car

KOCHI: A four-year-old child was run over by a car near North Fort Gate Junction in Thripunithura on Sunday morning.

Alina was walking on the roadside with her father, Varghese, when the car hit them. The vehicle, then, hit a nearby electric post and overturned. Mr. Varghese has been admitted to Medical Trust Hospital with multiple fractures. Hospital sources said that his condition was serious. The driver of the car too has been admitted to the hospital. The Thripunithura Traffic Police have registered a case.

Killed in accident

Antony, 56, of Chennoor, riding pillion on a scooter, died after the vehicle and a container lorry collided in Wellingdon Island on Sunday, the police said.
