Thiruvananthapuram: A 50-year-old woman, who had been admitted to Medical College Hospital after she sustained burns on March 13 during Attukal pongala, died on Sunday evening. Padmakumari, resident of `Krishna,' Sreekaryam, who is also a professor at the Regional Engineering College, Kozhikode, sustained burns when her sari caught fire while she was offering pongala.
Man run over
A pedestrian, approximately 60-years-old, was run over by a vehicle near Eenchakkal on the Kazhakkuttom-Kovalam bypass late on Sunday night. He is yet to be identified. Sources at the Medical College Hospital (MCH) said that the victim was brought in dead.
