Demand to open

super-specialty hospital

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Pannian Ravindran, MP, has urged Railway Minister Lalu Prasad to set up a super-specialty hospital at the Railway division headquarters here. In a memorandum submitted to the Union Minister, Mr. Ravindran said the hospital would benefit the public as well as railway employees and commuters. The hospital could either be set up on railway land at Thampanoor, Thycaud or Mettukada, he said. He said the facilities at the Divisional Railway Hospital at Pettah were inadequate to meet the requirements of the 10,000-odd railway employees and their family members. Mr. Ravindran raised the demand to set up the super-specialty at the meeting of Kerala MPs organised by the Railways general manager at Palakkad on February 10.
