Bangalore: Shivaraj Kumar won the Best Actor award for the film Jogi at the ETV-Vatika Film Award at the Palace Grounds here on Sunday. Ramya bagged the Best Actress award for the film Amruthadhare. In his acceptance speech, Shivaraj Kumar thanked his fans for bestowing upon him the honour and also the director Prem and technicians who worked on the film. Film director Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar accepted the award on Ramya's behalf from the actor-couple Ambarish and Sumalatha Ambarish. The Best Film award was bagged by Jogi. The film also won the Best Editor award (Srinivas), the Best Cinematography (M.R. Seenu), the Best Dialogue (Malavalli Sai Krishna), the Best Story (Prem), the Best Lyrics (Prem), the Best Villain (Adi Lokesh), the Best Supporting Actress (Arundati Nag), the Best Music Director (Guru Kiran) and the Best Director (Prem). Mr. Prem, while accepting the award for the Best Director, said he was grateful to have been given a chance to work with the best talents in the industry. The award for Best Playback Singer (Male) was bagged by S.P. Balasubrahmanyam for the film Anna Tangi, while Chitra won the Best Playback Singer (Female) for the film Akash. The award for the Best Actor in a Comic Role (Male/Female) was bagged by Shruti for the film Raama Shaama Bhaama. In her acceptance speech, she said she was glad that the film has given her an opportunity to expand on her acting range. Ravichandran won the award for Best Supporting Actor (Male) for the film Aham Premasmi. He said such award ceremonies are occasions when the entire industry and the movie audience come together. Actors and singers performed popular numbers, much to the delight of the public. The ceremony concluded with a grand display of fireworks.
