dated March 28, 1956: INA memorial in Singapore

Mr. David Marshall, Chief Minister of Singapore, said at a press conference in Singapore on March 26 that he would give the "most courteous consideration" to any request from the Government of India for the reconstruction of the Indian National Army memorial in Singapore. In the Lok Sabha recently, a member, Mr. H.V. Kamath, had said the INA memorial in Singapore was dynamited by the British forces during the last war and had suggested that the Indian Government should use its good offices to get the memorial rebuilt.
