Power cut

CHENNAI: Power supply will be suspended in the parts of Pallavaram, Nungambakkam and K.K.Nagar on 28th March between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. for maintenance. Supply will be resumed before 5 p.m. if the maintanence work is completed.

BSNL new website

BSNL, Chennai Telephones has launched a new website http://billchn.bsnl.co.in, in which the latest landline and gsm bill amount of customers along with payment status will be available. Further, on registration, a customer could also get fortnightly meter reading as well as details on STD calls made from a particular number. Customers could also opt to receive bill information through SMS or e-mail.

`Know your museum'

The government museum, Chennai is organising the `Know your museum' workshop March 29 (10 a.m). Forty students in the age group of 12-16 years will be allowed to participate. For registration, contact curator M.Mohan over phone 28193238. There is no registration fee. Five students from each school will be chosen on first-cum-first-serve basis.

Keyboarding competitions

The Stenographer's Guild is conducting Intersteno Worldwide Online Computer Keyboarding Competitions in India. Those above 20 years of age are eligible to take part in the contest. Registration forms are available at www.stenold.org. Contest fee is Rs.300 per candidate. A demand draft in favour of Stenographer's Guild payable at Chennai has to be remitted. Free yoga classes

State-level science seminar

The Physics department of Crescent Engineering College is organising `Crescience', a state-level science seminar on Tuesday.

Topics to be covered include nano materials, applications, advances in materials technology and thermonuclear energy reactors.

Dhanapalan College for Women, Kelambakkam, celebrated College Day on March 26, Sunday.

Vice-Chancellor of Mother Teresa University was the chief guest.
