Reyat pleads not guilty
Toronto:
Inderjit Singh Reyat, the only man convicted in the Air India bombing case, has pleaded not guilty to perjury charges arising out of his testimony during the trial.
Reyat, who was sentenced to five years in jail after he entered into a plea bargain, is accused of lying more than two dozen times while he testified.
While acquitting two other accused, British Columbia Supreme Court Justice Ian Josephson called Reyat an ``unmitigated liar.'' He will be back in the Supreme Court on May 1 for more preliminary hearing, media reports said.
The bombing in 1985 left 329 persons dead. PTI
