Man in `talaq' row registers marriage
Dalgaonbasti (West Bengal):
The Muslim couple in West Bengal's Jalpaiguri district, whose marriage hangs in the balance as the husband uttered `talaq' thrice in his sleep, have registered their marriage in a civil court.
Aftab Ansari (30), a brick kiln worker, had been ordered by a village `moulvi' to separate from his wife Sohela, after 11 years of marriage, for having uttered `talaq' thrice in his sleep on December 20. Ansari, who has been put under constant surveillance and was not allowed to meet any outsider, however, told a PTI reporter that he had registered his marriage in Alipurduar sub-divisional court after the moulvi's ruling.
