London: Former Middlesex and England bowler, Neil Williams, died at the age of 43, following an attack of pneumonia. It was stated that Williams suffered a stroke at his home in St. Vincent in the Caribbean three weeks ago and was flown to England for treatment as an emergency. Williams represented England only on one occasion at The Oval in 1990 when he made his debut against India. He took two for 148 runs in that Test, snaring Sachin Tendulkar and Mohammed Azharuddin. Apart from capturing those two wickets against India, Williams made 38 as a night watchman and put on 74 runs for the second wicket with Graham Gooch. Neil Williams also played for Essex, won four County championships with Middlesex and, in all, took 479 wickets in his career.
