Barre Kondababu prints 10,000 pamphlets explaining the symptoms

Rajahmundry: A corporator of the Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation has taken the lead in fighting against chikun gunya disease that had spread to the outskirts of the city.

Corporator Barre Kondababu printed 10,000 pamphlets with multi-colour graphics, explaining the symptoms of the disease, prevention and medication.

The pamphlet also explains about `Edis' mosquito, how the disease spreads, poor sanitary conditions, and the precautions that have to be taken by the people.

According to Mr Kondababu, there were 1,000 affected people in his ward and it all started with fever and joint pains, swelling of legs and face, weakness and red patches on the body, which are some symptoms of the disease.

The corporator invited Congress leaders Gummadi Samarpana Rao, Nakka Nagesh and INTUC district president B. Joseph Raju to release the pamphlet on Tuesday. Mr Kondababu said that the Municipal Corporation's Health Department had already published a pamphlet on the disease and in addition to this he had published the same with do's and don'ts along with pictures for better understanding of people.
