Holiday sought for Telugu New Year

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Telugu Desam has requested the Chief Minister to declare March 30 Telugu New Year Day, as a general holiday in the State. In a representation to the Chief Minister, the association president, P.R. Krishnan, said Telugus constituted more than 30 per cent of the State population.
