Six arrested, 39 vehicles recovered

BANGALORE: Police have arrested six persons, including two members of an inter-State gang, on charges of stealing vehicles and recovered 39 two- wheelers and a multiutility vehicle from them.

The Madiwala police arrested Viji (25) and Satish (20) of Tamil Nadu and recovered 32 two-wheelers from them. The accused had stolen the vehicles from Madiwala, Mico Layout, Subramanyapura, Seshadripuram and Vyalikaval police station limits. They had stolen vehicles from Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh also.

The crime detection squad of the city's South Division arrested Feroz (28) and Shafiullah (20) and recovered four vehicles from them. The Wilson Garden police arrested Pradeep (17) and Satish (19) and recovered three motorcycles and a multiutility vehicle from them.

Arrested

The Madiwala police have arrested six persons on charges of possessing lethal weapons and attempting to commit robbery. The police recovered a motorcycle, an autorickshaw, copper pipes and other articles. The names of the arrested are given as Mustafa (27), Ravi (20), Vasu (24), Manjunath (19), Muniraj (20) and Kumar (26).

Burglars held

The Chamarajpet police have arrested two persons allegedly involved in five cases of burglary. The police recovered 425 grams of gold ornaments, Rs. 10,000 worth silver articles, and Rs. 3.25 lakh from them. The police gave their names as Murthy (32) and Swamy (22). The accused had committed burglaries in Girinagar and Srinagar police station limits, the police said.

Recovered

The Byatarayanapura police have arrested two persons on charges of waylaying and robbing Shyamlal (59) on Mysore Road on March 13.

The police recovered a gold chain, gold ring, and a mobile phone, relieved from Shamlal. The police gave the name of the accused as Vijay (18) and Mahadev (18).
