SALEM: The Deputy Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly, Victoria R. Fernandes, inaugurated the new Operative Microscope and Lithotripter equipment at the Vinayaka Mission Hospital, a part of the Vinayaka Mission Deemed University in Salem, on Wednesday. At the function, she said that modern health care facilities should reach the poorest of the poor. She threw light on health care in Goa. The country, which was witnessing rapid industrialisation and globalisation, needed more and more projects to enhance its health care facilities. The Pro-Chancellor of the Vinayaka Mission Deemed University, A.S. Ganesan, detailed the facilities available in the Hospital, and the educational activities of the University. The 410-bed multi-speciality Hospital had many advanced technologies, he said. The Chancellor of the University, A. Shanmugasundaram, presided over the function. The Medical Director of the Hospital, K. Uthamalingam, welcomed.
