BATTLE BEGINS: Francis George, MP, inaugurating the election convention.
PATHANAMTHITTA: Kerala Congress (Joseph) leader Francis George, MP, inaugurated the election campaign of Left Democratic Front candidate V.K. Purushothaman Pillai of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Pathanamthitta on Wednesday. District panchayat member Omalloor Sankaran presided over the meeting. LDF district leaders R. Unnikrishna Pillai (CPI-M), Mundappally Thomas (CPI), Jerry Easow Oommen (KC-J), Saleem P. Chacko (Revolutionary Youth Front), Thomas Joseph (RSP), P.J. Ajayakumar (CPI-M) and Pathanamthitta municipal chairperson Amrutham Gokulan also spoke. The LDF election committee for the Assembly segment has also been constituted with Oommen Varghese as its president and T.K.G. Nair as secretary.
