NEW DELHI: Kalyani Kala Mandir Society will present Indian contemporary dance recital by danseuse Rashmi Khanna and her troupe at Triveni Kala Sangam here on April 2. The troupe of four professional dancers will perform on seven of late Kazi Nazrul Islam compositions, each portraying different "rasa" and "raga". Rashmi started dancing at the age of four. She began learning Indian creative dance under the guidance of Neelima Banerjee. But it was her passion for Bharatanatyam that brought her to Guru Kalyani Shekhar under whom she trained for nearly 20 years and continues to do so. Her expertise in dancing won her many awards including the "Critic Circle of India Award", "Sakha Award", "Pride of the Nation Award" and "Sarasalaya Award".
