A must for consumers

NEW DELHI: Consumer rights columnist and CEO of Consumerz Media Pushpa Girimaji under the banner of "Jago Grahak Jago" is hosting a weekly talk show on consumer issues. Meant to educate consumers about their rights, the programme will discuss consumer problems relating to goods and services and deal with issues including medical negligence, health insurance, banking, credit cards, mobile telephones, e-commerce, after-sale service and gold hallmarking.

Sponsored by Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs under its "Jago Grahak Jago" campaign, the talk show will be telecast every Sunday on DD National at 10 a.m. The first episode of the talk show that was telecast on March 26 dealt with the need for mandatory hallmarking of gold jewellery to protect the interest of consumers.

The second episode that will be telecast on April 2 will throw light on one of the most important issues pertaining to consumer safety - "Medication errors and their deleterious effect on consumers". Pushpa Girimaji has been writing a weekly column on consumer issues for the past 23 years.
