Allege the institution misguided them

CHENNAI:
Two girl students have moved the Madras High Court for a direction to ICFAI University (private) to refund the fee collected from them for distance education courses.
Seeking to implead themselves as parties to a pending writ petition, Saranya Bagyaraj and C.R. Madhumitha of Chennai submitted they had paid Rs.10,000 and Rs.19,800. They submitted cheques for the remaining fee.
While Saranya was planning to pursue MBA, Madhumitha had applied for a post-graduate diploma course in brand management course.
On coming to know about a Supreme Court order banning private universities and cases seeking action against ICFAI study centres in Tamil Nadu, they were seeking refund.
Charging the university with misguiding them and concealing facts, they wanted the court to direct the institution to refund the money.
Advocate, M.Raju, has also filed a writ petition, stating that the private university, recognised by the University Grants Commission in July 2005, was not entitled to admit students at its off-campus centres before February 2010.
