HYDERABAD: Claiming that there was political consensus on separate statehood for Telangana now, Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K. Chandrasekhara Rao asserted that it was just a matter of time before the State would come into existence. Mr. Rao, who had called on APCC president K. Keshava Rao twice in the last few days, met former Congress Legislature Party leader P. Janardhan Reddy at his residence here on Thursday over lunch. Later, Mr. Rao told reporters that major political parties, barring the Telugu Desam Party, had opined that creation of Telangana State was inevitable. "No one can stop Telangana. It is just a matter of time," he said, launching a tirade against the TDP for opposing it. He advised TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu to realise that his opposition would not stop Telangana. He said there was no need for the TRS to talk in terms of deadlines now since the Left parties too were in no mood to oppose the Bill pertaining to the new State. The CPI and the Forward Bloc had supported separate Telangana while CPI(M) leaders such as Sitaram Yechury, B. V. Raghavulu and P. Madhu had said they would not oppose the Bill on Telangana as and when it came in Parliament, he claimed. "I will meet leaders of all parties and organisations ranging from the RSU to the RSS in this connection."
KCR to meet YSR
He would also meet Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy when Parliament took up the Bill in this regard. On whether his party would enter into an alliance with the Congress during panchayat elections, he said he was yet to make up his mind. To a question, he said the rebel TRS MLAs could not be called dissidents. "They are traitors and I will take action against them at the appropriate time."
