185 RTC depots making profits

MADANAPALLE: The State Government has paid Rs. 100 crores to the APSRTC for the concessions extended to various sections.

Speaking to newsmen, Vice Chairman and Managing Director M. V. Krishna Rao said the corporation had incurred a loss of Rs. 224 crores last year for extending concessions. Mr. Krishna Rao, who visited Madanapalle I and II depots, said that the occupancy rate reached 65.4 per cent.

He said Rs.350 crores was paid as tax and Rs. 50 crores were released to the victims of road accidents. Out of 215 depots, nearly 185 depots are in profit with Chittoor, Ranga Reddy and Hyderabad topping the list.
