Isolated rain in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: Isolated rain occurred over Tamil Nadu, Kerala and dry weather prevailed over Andhra Pradesh, Lakshadweep and Karnataka. The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimetres are: Tondi and Karaikudi (Sivagangai dt.) and Konni (Pattanamthitta dt.) 2 each and Thoovalai (Kanyakumari dt.), Kanjirapalli (Kottayam dt.) and Punalur 1 each.

On Wednesday, the maximum temperature fell appreciably at one or two places over Andhra Pradesh, fell at one or two places over rest Andhra Pradesh, North Tamil Nadu, South Kerala and changed little elsewhere over the region.

They were appreciably above normal at one or two places over Tamil Nadu, South interior Karnataka, above normal at one or two places over rest Tamil Nadu, below normal at one or two places over Telangana and were generally normal over rest of the region. Bellary, Nandyal, Gulbarga and Nizamabad recorded the highest maximum temperature of 39 degree Celsius in the region. The minimum temperature fell appreciably at one or two places over North interior Karnataka, South coastal Tamil Nadu, fell at one or two places over South interior Karnataka, rose appreciably to markedly at one or two places over North Tamil Nadu, South coastal Andhra Pradesh, rose at one or two places over rest Tamil Nadu, rest South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal Karnataka and changed little elsewhere over the region.

Forecast (valid until Saturday morning): Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over south Tamil Nadu, Kerala and coastal Karnataka and mainly dry weather will prevail over North Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Lakshadweep, Andhra Pradesh and interior Karnataka.
