Tumour removed adopting nasal approach

Kakinada: A surgery for removal of a tumour adopting a nasal approach using a microscope has been successfully performed by doctors of the Apollo hospital here, according to C. Suryaprakasa Rao, Director Medical Services.

The surgery was performed by M.V. Kiran Kumar, neuro surgeon, on Nookathattu Chandra Rao (50) from Marripudi village.

He was referred to the hospital with blindness in the right eye.

Investigations revealed that a solid tumour of pituitary gland was the cause of illness.
