BANGALORE: Two persons were killed and two injured when a goods vehicle collided with a motorcycle and hit a tree in Nelamangala police station limits in Bangalore Rural district in the early hours of Thursday. The accident occurred at around 4.30 a.m. on National Highway-4, off Madavara village. The goods vehicle caught fire after hitting the tree, the police said. According to a complaint filed by Jayalakshmi with the Nelamangala police, she left Goddhahalli to Mallasandra on a motorcycle at around 4 a.m. along with her maternal uncle Nagaraj. After they had travelled some distance, a goods vehicle, which was proceeding to Tumkur from Bangalore, hit the motorcycle near the Madavara bus stand. Nagaraj (50) died on the spot and Jayalakshmi suffered injuries. The cleaner of the goods vehicle, whose identity is not known, also died on the spot. A fire tender put out the fire. The vehicle driver was injured. The Nelamangala police have registered a case.
