Meerut (Uttar Pradesh): A local court has directed the police to register a case against noted painter Maqbool Fida Hussain for allegedly making objectionable and obscene paintings of Hindu gods and goddesses. Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Ashok Pathak on Wednesday gave the directions on a case filed by one Prempal Singh on March 20. In his complaint Singh claimed that he had seen Hussain's paintings on a website, which had "hurt his religious feelings". -- PTI
