KCR flays State's `apathy' to poultry crisis

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Union Labour Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has criticised the State Government for its alleged indifference towards distressed poultry farmers.

Referring to the crisis the industry passed through in the wake of bird flu, Mr. Rao said at a press conference here on Friday that the problem had a cascading effect across sectors impacting State's economy. But the Government had failed to respond to the situation. Mr. Rao said that he would take up relief measures for farmers with the Prime Minister and raise the issue in next meeting of the Union Cabinet.
