Faridabad: Three people were injured when police resorted to lathicharge to disperse an angry crowd during the second ODI between India and England here on Friday. A middle-aged woman and her child had to be rushed to a nearby hospital after they suffered injuries. Another woman, newly married, was also at the receiving end. The incident happened at Gate No.7 when people with valid tickets were stopped from entering the stadium. Earlier, an hour's cut in power supply at the start of the match left mediapersons anxious. Haryana police said they were forced to resort to lathicharge to prevent people without tickets from sneaking into the stadium. "There were a large number of people without tickets who were trying to forcefully enter the stadium through Gate No. 7 and were pushing the valid ticket holders. At this juncture we resorted to a mild lathicharge," Faridabad police chief Mahender Singh said. PTI
