Percept D'Mark gets the rights

Mumbai: Percept D'Mark, a Mumbai-based sports and celebrity management company has won the title and in-stadia rights for the India-Pakistan one-day internationals to be played at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi on April 18 and 19.

Its bid was $3.61 million (approx. Rs. 16 crores) as against Abu Dhabi Cricket Club's offer of $3.51 million. Nimbus, a third party, was disqualified because it did not meet the stipulations set out in the Invitation To Tender (ITT), opened on Friday by BCCI officials at the Cricket Club of India on Friday. The two matches are the first of the 25 odd internationals the cricket boards of India and Pakistan have planned to position over the next five years in neutral countries with a dense Indian and Pakistani population.

For a noble cause

A part, but substantial proceeds, of the two matches to be played at Abu Dhabi will be donated to the people affected by the earthquake in northern Pakistan and Kashmir last year.

The Indian team for the two matches in Abu Dhabi will be selected in Goa in April 3.

The ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, has invited the members of the full executive board of the International Cricket Council to witness the two matches. — Special Correspondent
