NEW DELHI: One of the youngest possible painters in history, two-year-old Manjistha Singh from Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh, will be the main attraction at the "All-India Agnipath (Artist's Group for National Interest in Peaceful Action for Harmony) Art Exhibition" that opens at Taravancore Art Gallery on Kasturba Gandhi Marg this Saturday. Around 150 artists from all over India, ten of whom are physically challenged, will participate in the exhibition featuring paintings, drawings, graphics, sculptures and photographs. A day after the exhibition, 90 artists will be given cash awards. The first prize will be Rs. 15,000, second prize Rs. 10,000 and five third prizes of Rs. 5,000 each. The artists will also be presented with gold, silver and bronze medals, 30 each. The award ceremony will be held at Rajendra Bhavan on Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg. Ten noted personalities from the fields of art, education, music, social service and journalism would also be honoured with "Agnipath Kalaratan Award". The weeklong exhibition will be open to the public from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
