Railway employees taught how to cope with stress and tension

A lecture-cum-demonstration programme was held

CHENNAI :The Chennai Division of Southern Railway on Friday organised "train the health," a lecture-cum-demonstration programme for its staff.

Employees were taught on how to cope with stress through simple relaxation exercises. There were lectures on various methods of minimising the stress in work environment, including change of lifestyle.

Short-term relief and long-term benefits through simple breathing exercises applicable for all ages were also demonstrated.

Breathing adjustments to climatic conditions, pre-natal and postnatal care, high attitude living, sleep disorders, and improving mental faculty of children were also explained.

The awareness campaign is aimed at reducing human contribution in accidents, addiction to alcohol and harmonious dealing with public for front line staff.

Uma Sriram, a well-known yoga exponent and an expert in various healing therapies, was the resource person, according to a railway press release.
