Mayor asks people not to litter roads with garbage

KADAPA: Kadapa Mayor P. Ravindranath Reddy on Sunday directed municipal officials to undertake desilting and repairs of drains and fill water-logged pits to check breeding of mosquitoes.

He wanted steps to check stagnation of water around taps and potholes, while going round 46 and 47 municipal divisions. He directed repairs to damaged drains and culverts in the two divisions on a war footing.

Roads would be laid on completion of underground drainage system, he said and asked people not to litter roads with garbage.

Cooperation sought

Deputy Mayor K. Nabi Rasool sought people's cooperation for developing Kadapa town, on the initiative of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.

Municipal Commissioner S. Aleem Basha said public grievances were being resolved and parks were being set up.

Water supply was being augmented, he said. Polythene covers should not be dumped in drains.
