Chandigarh: Olympians Palwinder Singh Cheema of Punjab and Anuj Chaudhary of Uttar Pradesh expectedly won gold medals in their respective freestyle categories in the 52nd senior National wrestling championship at Nidani in Jind district. Palwinder defeated Rajiv Tomar of Railway Sports Promotion Board in the 120kg final, while Anuj prevailed over Ravinder of West Bengal in the 84kg class final bout. Parveen Kumar of Ch. Bharat Singh Memorial School downed Virender Singh of Railway Sports Promotion Board in the 120kg Greco-Roman final. The results: Greco-Roman: 55kg: 1. Joginder (Har), 2. K.L. Yadav (SSCB), 3. Anurag (RSPB) and Vinayak Dalvi (Mah). 66kg: Sunil (Mah), 2. Bhauso Patil (SSCB), 3. Pardeep Mann (Har) and Anand (Chd). 84kg: 1. Manoj Kumar (SSCB), 2 Jagbir (Har), 3 Arvind Kumar (TN) and Manjeet (WAD). 120kg: 1. Parveen Kumar (CBSM, Nidani), 2. Virender Singh (RSPB), 3. Ravinder (Har) and Dodake Yadav (Mah). Freestyle: 55kg: 1. Vinod (Har), 2. Ramesh (SSCB), 3. Ram Chander (Mah) and Sumeet (DAWA). 66kg: 1. Sushil (RSPB), 2. Mahender (SSCB), 3. Shokender Tomar (UP) and Nar Singh Yadav (Mah). 84kg: 1.
