Mulayam rules out introducing VAT

NEW DELHI: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav on Sunday said his Government had no intention to introduce Value Added Tax (VAT). The new regime is in force almost throughout the country, with five BJP-ruled States — Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand — switching over from Saturday.
